Range
TravelSmart has four passport wallets: two slim wallets, one zip travel wallet and one family wallet, plus a gift-boxed edition of the RFID Passport Wallet. The range is built around a few clear choices rather than many similar models.
Zoomlite also has four passport options: a slim RFID Passport Holder, a Family Travel Wallet, an Anti-Theft Passport Pouch and a Travel Neck Pouch. Zoomlite is a wider travel brand too, selling luggage, packing cubes and bags, and leather card wallets.
Capacity and layout
- Solo: the TravelSmart RFID Passport Wallet holds 1 passport, 4 cards and cash in a 1 cm bi-fold. The Slim RFID Passport Wallet holds a passport, a boarding pass and 3 cards, with a quick-release passport sleeve for check-in. Zoomlite's RFID Passport Holder has 1 passport pocket, 4 card slots, a mesh pocket and an outside slip-in pocket for a boarding pass, with a button closure.
- Everything in one: the TravelSmart ZipSafe™ holds passport, cards, cash and boarding passes behind a full zip. Zoomlite's Anti-Theft Passport Pouch fits 3–4 passports and a large phone, with 6 card slots, 2 mesh pockets, an inside zip pocket and a webbing lock that holds the zip closed.
- Family: the TravelSmart Family Passport Wallet holds 4–5 passports in dedicated slots, plus boarding passes, tickets, cards, notes and coins, with a built-in pen holder, a full-length zip and an adjustable shoulder strap. Zoomlite's Family Travel Wallet has 4 passport slots, 5 card spaces, a pen loop, a key clip, two inside zip pockets and an outside boarding pass pocket, with a grab handle and a detachable wrist strap.
- Under clothes: Zoomlite's Travel Neck Pouch sits flat under a shirt or jacket, with a zip pocket, 2 card slots and 2 slip-in pockets. TravelSmart doesn't sell a passport neck pouch.
Materials and build
TravelSmart's RFID Passport Wallet uses soft-touch PU (synthetic) leather and the ZipSafe™ uses PU leather. PU is light and wipes clean with a damp cloth. Zoomlite's passport range uses polyester outers: water-repellent on the Passport Holder, water-resistant on the Anti-Theft Pouch, and water- and tear-resistant ripstop on the Family Travel Wallet and Neck Pouch. Zoomlite's zippered models use reverse zips. Neither brand lists a genuine leather passport wallet.
RFID blocking
All four TravelSmart passport wallets include RFID blocking. The RFID Passport Wallet has a built-in RFID-blocking layer, the Family Passport Wallet has an RFID-blocking lining, the ZipSafe™ has a 13.56 MHz shielding layer (the frequency used by contactless cards and ePassports), and on the Slim RFID Passport Wallet the blocking covers the card slots. Zoomlite says each of its passport wallets blocks RFID across the whole wallet when it's closed, and it doesn't list a frequency.
Your ePassport chip and tap-and-go cards can be read by a scanner held close to them. Your passport chip also has its own lock: a reader has to read the printed lines on your photo page before the chip will share its data. Card skimming isn't something most travellers run into every day, but RFID blocking is a simple way to stop unwanted scans, with nothing to switch on. Both brands offer it, so choose on capacity, size and price.

- You're buying one wallet and want free tracked delivery with no minimum order.
- You want a gift-boxed passport wallet that includes a free RFID Shield Card for their everyday wallet.
